Photographers can now manipulate their outputs under different conditions using several components found in modern cameras, just like in a digital SLR camera where the features of a film SLR camera and a digital camera are put together.

The difference between a Digital SLR camera and a plain digital camera is the reflex design system. For a basic digital camera, the camera’s screen is used as the viewfinder by exposing the sensor to the light reflected by the lens. On the other hand, for a DLSR the imaged cannot be previewed on the screen due to its mirror arrangement. But the latest DLSR models have the live preview though there are some limitations.

The function of a single-lens reflex, or SLR indicates that the same lens is used for viewing and taking the picture. A hinged mirror reflects the light that comes through the lens it through a five-sided prism into the viewfinder. A spring, by design pulls the mirror out of the path between lens and film by the time the photographer takes the shot. Focal-plane shutters, precise automatic exposure systems, and built-in flash controls can be found in the majority of single-lens reflex. Because of this, the image taken is almost accurately similar to the object that the photographer sees.

And then that is combined with the feature of the digital camera that allows the photographer to see the digital images right away and edit the photos effortlessly. As a result, both professional and amateur photographers know that a digital SLR camera is the best choice.
